Parley's Creek Corridor Trail
Description

Parley's Creek Corridor Trail is an 8-mile paved trail that follows the Interstate 80 corridor through Salt Lake City, UT. The trail will be a major east-west connector trail running through Salt Lake City and South Salt Lake. A key link in the Salt Lake Valley trail system, the trail will connect the 140-mile Bonneville Shoreline Trail on the east and the 100-mile Jordan River Parkway on the west.

Parley's Rails and Trails Coalition (PRATT) Coalition, representing a large group of community interests, as well as city, county, state government representatives, collaborated to propose a trail route, seek funding and promote its phased development. The planned ten-foot wide paved trail would accommodate walkers, joggers, and other recreational users. This alternative non-motorized transportation route will reconnect communities fragmented by urban development along the Interstate corridor and provide a safe route to travel between homes, schools, churches, business districts, public services, parks and governmental centers. The proposed route will take advantage of existing public rights of way and parks, and specifically avoid acquiring or impacting private property.

The PRATT Coalition has formed strategic public and private partnerships including the National Park Service to move the project forward and coordinate the Coalition's efforts.
