Walk to School Day/Week
Description

International Walk to School Week in October every year promotes activites to encourage children and their parents to walk to school. The program helps local organizations seek media coverage to spread the word about the benefits of walking to school. The program websites promote the benefits of walking and provide resources on how to improve the walking environment. In the United States, the program is coordinated by the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center for the Partnership for a Walkable America. The US Program is part of International Walk to School week, www.iwalk.org.
