Grand Teton National Park Transportation Plan
Description

When Wyoming.s scenic Grand Teton National Park began to draft a new transportation plan, park officials and residents of nearby Jackson decided that they wanted to improve opportunities for visitors to walk, bike and explore the park. The goals were to increase mobility, decrease traffic and parking loads, and facilitate access to areas that are currently passed over by most visitors.

To that end, the staff of the park drafted a plan including several scenarios for moving forward, with the preferred options being the most extensive. The key areas of focus are enhanced shoulders for bicyclists, multi-use pathways, a transit service to the park in order to reduce traffic and a revamped visitor information service.

The project completed the planning stage in 2005 and has solicited resident input to ensure local support. They are anticipating a decision on which scenario to adopt in order to implement the plan.
