EPA announces "Healthy Community" grants

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded 22 grants totaling more than half-a-million dollars across New England under its Healthy Community Grants Program. Portland Trails was awarded $30,000 to transform at least three asphalt-covered schoolyards into park space for environmental education and community gathering. Cultivating Community, a New England-wide project, was awarded more than $17,000 to develop its “Healthy Landscapes for Affordable Housing” program.
