Study validates where kids live affects their weight
A landmark study by Reid Ewing, an associate professor at the University of Maryland’s National Center for Smart Growth, finds that youth living in sprawling counties are more likely to be obese than their peers in dense counties. While this finding has been evidenced in adults, this is the first-ever confirmation that this negative health trend also affects children.
